Why This Role Exists

Midwest Aircraft Machine & Tool Company is expanding its machining capabilities to support ongoing aerospace manufacturing programs and customer demand.

This role plays a critical part in producing precision aerospace components that require exceptional attention to detail, quality, and craftsmanship. The CNC Mill Machinist will help ensure parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and to the demanding standards expected within the aerospace industry.

The Work You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision aerospace components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Program and edit CNC programs using G-code and machine controls
  • Select tooling, establish offsets, and verify work holding setups
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve performance and quality
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and care
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
  • Collaborate with fellow machinists, quality personnel, and leadership to meet production goals

What We're Looking For Required
  • 10+ years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong CNC setup and machine operation experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment
  • Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and production issues
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience in highly regulated industries
  • CNC machining certification or technical training
  • CAD/CAM software experience including Mastercam and Solid Works
  • Multi-axis machining experience
Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range

$35 – $45 per hour (DOE)
