Machine Operator

Location Address: 300 Dewey Street, Argos, Indiana 46501.

Work Shift:

8hr-2nd Shift (United States of America).

• Operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems to ensure production of quality bottles.
• Demonstrate safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
• Demonstrate punctuality and adhere to the work schedule.
• Work effectively with others, embracing a One Team Cross Functional attitude.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant.
• Adhere to company General Manufacturing Policies and compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform introductory preventive maintenance on mold, neck, blow pin, and other mechanical components.
• Adhere to quality control and blow mold process procedures.
• Perform bottle inspections, such as drop tests for designated lines, and inspect quality during production, packaging, and labeling.
• Perform audits, weight checks, and other quality checks.
• Make adjustments to meet product specifications and troubleshoot minor repair on blow-mold and support equipment.
• Immediately elevate any bottle abnormalities, defects, or quality issues when found.
• Monitor and replenish supply levels of packaging materials as needed.
• Pick up dropped bottles, place them into bins, and, if needed, into grinder.
• Ensure correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging of product according to specific customer requirements.
• Move finished goods to the designated area.
• Prepare and document daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies, and other performance metrics.
• Prepare maintenance request forms and document equipment repairs.
• Receive instructions on specific job tasks from Lead Operator or Supervisor.
• Receive assistance on unusual problems; review work for application of sound professional judgment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management; duties may differ by plant based on equipment and plant design.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

• Basic mathematical skills.
• Basic computer experience.
• Blow mold experience.

• Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire date.

The employee frequently is required to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.

During the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
