Connersville, Indiana (On-site). Shift: 2nd shift (start no later than 3:00 pm).

JobOverview
Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures, processes, and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency, and planning factory layouts to optimize production while focusing on lean improvements and maintaining safety and quality.
Responsibilities- Evaluate quality control processes and recommend improvements.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Develop process documentation, including SOPs, process routings, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, and error proofing plans.
- Lead the trial and evaluation of new machinery, tooling, and equipment.
- Develop cost estimates for new and major programs.
- Apply statistical qualification of machinery, equipment, and gauges.
- Standardize processes, implement new ideas to improve safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Provide technical direction; specify, quote, source, purchase, and lead installation of new equipment and processes.
- Initiate cost‑saving ideas and projects through efficient engineering practices.
- Train manufacturing personnel on new equipment and troubleshoot issues.
- Support new program launches; monitor daily quality and productivity results and react to problems.
- Assess safety, quality, and delivery problems on the shop floor and implement solutions.
- Support lean scheduling projects focusing on lean line design, standard work, Kanban, and material delivery.
- Plan and implement manufacturing cost‑reduction opportunities.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering discipline.
- 1+ year of knowledge of CNC programming.
- Shift: 2nd shift (start no later than 3:00 pm).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Takes initiative; ability to lead and work independently.
- Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with a track record of dependability.
- Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office.
- Willing to work all shifts, including night shift as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Relevant technological knowledge.
- Fluent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Fluent in lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with lean principles such as lean line design and Kanban pull systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with machining and assembly.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline or combination of education and experience.
This position is based in Connersville, Indiana with minimal travel required.
