About the Job
As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role within the hygienic fluid handling team. Your responsibilities will include polishing components to support pump, valve, and PHE products that require 3‑A surface finish standards, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. This is an on‑site day shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with overtime as needed) position located at our Indianapolis, IN facility.
Responsibilities- Polish sub‑components and/or execute the material processing within the facility on a limited number of pieces that require basic levels of product and process knowledge.
- Perform process setups and value‑add activities using defined operating parameters, following all documentation to meet daily production demand within the assigned team.
- Continuously build job knowledge through execution of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop the department in accordance with the Alfa Laval Production System, participating in team performance and improvement meetings.
- Observe all company policies and execute quality checks and inspections when the work is completed.
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packaged items, manually or using lifts.
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a production or warehouse environment.
- Experience using power tools.
- Crane and forklift certifications preferred.
- Previous experience in polishing preferred.
- Knowledge of basic production or assembly hand tools.
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints, manufacturing orders, etc.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
