Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
The LHH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in Indianapolis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization known for its commitment to quality, precision, and operational excellence. In this role, you will drive manufacturing process development, support new and existing production initiatives, and serve as a key technical resource working across engineering, programming, project management, and operations teams.
The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $100K - 135K per year and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for new and existing components
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and technical specifications
- Determine optimal manufacturing methods and production sequences
- Select appropriate raw material sizes and stock requirements
- Create detailed routings, travelers, and manufacturing documentation
- Develop work instructions to support consistent production standards
- Estimate setup times, cycle times, and labor requirements
- Recommend equipment selection for production operations
- Support prototype, development, and low-volume production projects
- Collaborate with programmers on machining and process strategies
- Partner with project teams to ensure successful production execution
- Resolve manufacturing challenges affecting quality, cost, or delivery
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and production teams
- Establish and maintain manufacturing best practices and standards

- Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering is required
- Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within the manufacturing industry is required
- Must have experience developing manufacturing processes and production routings
- Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation
- Ideal candidates will have experience supporting CNC machining environments
- Ideal candidates will have experience with production planning and process optimization
- Ideal candidates will have the ability to estimate manufacturing times and costs
- Ideal candidates will have experience supporting prototype and low-volume production
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are preferred
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities are preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects within demanding production environments
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
