Production Specialist

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, JELD-WEN designs, produces and distributes an extensive range of interior and exterior doors, wood, vinyl and aluminum windows.

Under direct supervision, the Production Specialist performs repetitive production support operations using hand tools and associated machinery and equipment to assist in the manufacturing of JELD-WEN products including Door Skins, and all other JELD-WEN-related building products.

Responsibilities and Duties:

* Read and understand customer's requirements from the job ticket.

* Gather all the materials needed to complete the job.

* Ensure that all material is labeled properly before it is sent to the warehouse.

* Ensure all door accessories are in place before packaging.

* Understand each material for the different orders.

* Visually inspect, select, and package products according to requested specifications.

* Communicate with management on material or maintenance on equipment not performing up to standards and those in need of reorder / repair.

* Responsible for maintaining clean and functional equipment.

* Responsible for the troubleshooting of the machine.

* Review documents such as production schedules, and work orders, to determine the set-up of the machine including door type, and size and validate each order.

* Responsible to operate the machine accurately according to each order characteristic to exceed customer expectations in a safe and efficient manner that improves the current level of production.

* Responsible for assembling the door accessories of the product.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Builder

* Use your hands to straighten stacks on the builder lift.

* Clean the grating and headboard of excess glue every two lifts.

* Inspect glue coverage of the beginning of each lift to ensure the appropriate amount of glue.

* Build doors according to work instructions and complete pace of 16 minutes, build door every 26 seconds.

* Responsible for all doors produced on the line during your shift hours.

* Must know and understand the production schedule and specific information contained on individual batch cards to ensure doors are or lay-up/Built according to specifications.

* Proficiency in the internal components of the doors and the capacity to construct doors in accordance with (DEO) must be shown.

* Must know skin types and size doors to the customer's specifications according to the production schedule.

Jump Saw

* Clean or make minor repairs to machines or equipment.

* Ability to perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.

* Load and operate machinery to maximize product quality and operational efficiency.

* Shut down, disassemble, and clean equipment and work areas. Routinely inspect and maintain equipment.

Assembler

* Assemble products using tools and automated equipment, this could include drilling holes, measuring parts, cutting parts, or using a saw.

* Communicate clearly in English both orally and in writing to carry out job functions and work with your team.

* Read visual and written instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts and deliver to production lines.

* Work closely with your supervisor to troubleshoot any mechanical or material issues.

* Crosstrain in multiple departments, adding variety to your workday.

Finisher

* Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel including, but not limited to, Group Leaders, or Group Managers or quality control personnel

* Clean or make minor repairs to machines or equipment.

* Ability to perform basic functions of arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.

* Shut down, disassemble, and clean equipment and work areas. Routinely inspect and maintain equipment.

Quick/Extensive Repair
