Manufacturing Process Developer

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods, identifying root causes of nonconformance patterns, working with interdepartmental teams to identify solutions, and following solutions through their complete adoption phases across all affected departments.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
  • Analyze current methods of manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
  • Develop alternative manufacturing methods to optimize labor usage and material cost by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying and testing both methods and equipment
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and confirming manufacturing processes
  • Perform root cause analysis on productions issues leading to inefficiency
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to confirm root cause analysis and identify solutions
  • Collaborate with a team of craftspeople, machine operators, supervisors and product developers to ensure everyone is executing solution requirements with a common understanding
  • Track all solutions through their adoption phase in every affected department.
  • Perform reviews of all method changes and nonconformance solutions post-adoption
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Participate in cross-functional planning sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaboration and cohesion
  • Work to provide solutions to leadership when presented with manufacturing concerns
  • Ensure manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the engineering field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with CAD programs
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple formats
  • Disciplined, detail oriented, punctual and quality minded
  • Empathetic and positive attitude
  • Organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Collaborative and team-oriented personality
  • Technical and playing experience with woodwind instruments preferred
  • Ability to follow all safety regulations
