Weekend Night Shift Tool & Die Apprentice / Journeyman / CNC Machinist
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Tool & Die Apprentice, Journeyman, or CNC Machinist to work in a high-volume stamping and roll forming environment on a weekend night shift. You will operate CNC Haas mills and a variety of manual machines to build, service, and maintain tooling and production components. A new CNC automated and robotic line with multiple Haas mills is being installed, providing the chance to expand your skills with modern equipment and take your machining experience to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Haas milling centers to produce precision components in a stamping and roll forming environment.
- Set up, change out tooling, perform offsets, and operate CNC milling machinery with minimal supervision.
- Use surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, and other shop equipment to support production and maintenance needs.
- Operate forklifts when necessary to move dies and tooling, including dies weighing up to approximately 8,000 pounds, following all safety procedures.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, including prints with up to 100 dimensions, to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify adherence to tight tolerances up to +/- 0.005 inches.
- Apply knowledge of G and M codes to adjust programs, change tooling, and make offset corrections as needed.
- Support tool and die activities by assisting in the layout, building, servicing, and repair of tools, dies, and fixtures as experience allows.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a large maintenance and tool and die shop.
- Work a weekend night schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.) while consistently meeting quality and productivity expectations.
Essential Skills
- At least 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience operating mills and lathes.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC milling machinery.
- Hands-on experience operating CNC Haas machining centers.
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret detailed blueprints, including prints with up to 100 dimensions.
- Strong proficiency with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Experience working with tight tolerances up to +/- 0.005 inches.
- Working knowledge of G and M codes to change tooling and make offset adjustments at the machine.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfort working in a stamping and roll forming environment with large dies and heavy equipment.
- Commitment to safe work practices and consistent attendance on a weekend night shift schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of Tool & Die Maker experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to layout, build, service, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Journeyman card in machining or tool and die is a strong plus.
- Experience in roll forming operations.
- Interest in working with new CNC automated and robotic lines and learning additional technologies.
- Comfort working in a large maintenance and tool and die shop environment.

Work Environment
The facility is a large, bright, clean, and well-organized stamping and roll forming plant with a substantial maintenance and tool and die shop. Some areas are loud due to stamping equipment, and appropriate hearing protection and safety practices are required. You will work around heavy dies that can weigh up to approximately 8,000 pounds, using hoists, clamps, and forklifts to move tooling safely.
