Extrusion Operator

Hoehn Plastics, Inc. is seeking dependable, safety-minded Extrusion Operators to join our operational team in the Extrusion Department.

Extrusion Operators play an important role in keeping our manufacturing process running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on position, you’ll operate and monitor extrusion equipment, inspect finished material for quality, respond to process or equipment concerns, and help ensure products meet Hoehn Plastics' established standards.

What You’ll Do

Extrusion Operators are responsible for operating extrusion equipment and supporting consistent production and product quality throughout your shift.

  • Start up, set up, operate, and monitor extrusion equipment.
  • Observe machine operations, control panels, gauges, and equipment conditions to identify potential malfunctions or process concerns.
  • Monitor finished material coming off production lines for conformity with established quality standards.
  • Take appropriate corrective action or communicate concerns when product defects, equipment issues, or process abnormalities are identified.
  • Perform routine operational checks and support consistent equipment performance throughout the shift.
  • Utilize internal inventory and production systems as required.
  • Maintain accurate production information and complete required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with Shift Leads, Coordinators, Quality, Maintenance, and other team members to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and able to stay attentive while operating industrial equipment.

  • Ability to follow written instructions, established procedures, and work requirements.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to safely work around industrial machinery and material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate equipment, process, or product concerns.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Previous forklift experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is beneficial.
Physical & Work Environment

This is an active, hands‑on position within a warehouse and industrial manufacturing environment. The role requires extended standing on concrete, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, and performing physical activities throughout the shift. Team members must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

The work environment may include exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dust, forklift traffic, industrial processing equipment, and occasional outdoor work.
