Sorting Utility

Position Summary

The Sorting Utility position is responsible for operating and monitoring machine functions, keeping boxes made and labels for each part ran on machine and making inspections of parts as required by Quality Control. This position will comply with all safety rules.

• Load machines as needed to keep running
• Visually monitor part quality and with appropriate test and/or gauges
• Box and palletize parts
• Perform basic adjustments to machines
• Ability to distinguish good/bad parts via provided samples
• Clean all machines between jobs
• Ability to work in other areas/depts. when assigned
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to operate forklift
• Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
• Must read at a level to comprehend instructions and labels

• Walking, standing frequently
• Use of eyes to visually inspect parts frequently
• Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly, grasping bags and making / taping boxes
• Lifting 20-35 pounds regularly, occasionally 50+ lbs – assisted 2 person lift anything over 35 lbs
• Carrying product to load and stack pallets
• Bending and squatting frequently
