GT Industries, a leading automotive manufacturing supplier, is seeking an Area Manager to join their 2nd shift team in North Vernon, IN. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 3:30PM-12AM.
If you have 2+ years of leadership experience in production/manufacturing, this is an opportunity you need to explore! Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required.

- Ensure team members work safely, ensure operators have all required PPE to safely accomplish assigned job duties.
- Produce quality parts by utilizing Midway Product Quality System.
- Monitor assigned area’s performance.
- Coordinate the manufacturing activity.
- Analyze data to identify areas of improvement and lead continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize MPS to control processes.
- Assist with cross‑training team members to create multi‑functional employees.
- Teach, train, coach, and assist team members and has authority to discipline as needed.
- Assist in scheduling assigned employees and ensuring proper staffing.
- Ensure assigned area board is up to date.
- Prepare daily pass down information and communicate with manager on opposite shift daily.
- Work cross functionally to help resolve daily production challenges.
- Review employees’ timecards daily and communicate any changes with the appropriate departments.
- Manage all employees’ requests/concerns in accordance with our policies and procedures.
- Issue all disciplinary actions assigned by HR in a timely manner.
- Attend all assigned meetings.
- Maintain established employee relations policies and safety and health regulations.
- Reinforce STOP CALL WAIT policy for all assigned employees to ensure safety and quality concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensure assigned area always maintains housekeeping standards.
- Hands on with knowledge of data interpretation
- Floor leader spending 85% of time on the shop floor
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
