STS Technical Services is hiring a Mechanic in Terre Haute, Indiana, to support equipment assembly in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for safely assembling mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components using detailed work instructions, blueprints, schematics and a variety of hand and power tools. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and comfortable working across multiple assembly areas as production needs change.

Position Overview The Mechanic assembles equipment and components according to detailed instructions provided by Supervisors and Group Leaders. Assemblies vary in size and configuration and may require mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and manual assembly work. This role also supports accessory installation, drilling and tapping, overhead crane operation and general production activities. Responsibilities Assemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulic components using power tools and manual assembly techniques Install equipment accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights Safely operate an overhead crane to position parts Use hand and pneumatic tools including wrenches, hammers and torque guns Measure materials and components accurately using tape measures and related tools Drill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small components Read schematics, blueprints and Standard Work Instructions to identify required options Lift and stack subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds independently Participate in team lifts for parts weighing up to 60 pounds Cross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as required Follow written and verbal work instructions Maintain attention to detail and established quality standards Maintain a clean and safe work area Follow company safety requirements and 6S standards Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required by production demands Ability to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance

Preferred Qualifications At least six months of experience in manufacturing or general labor
