GT Industries, a leading automotive manufacturing supplier, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their 2nd shift team in North Vernon, IN. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 3:30PM-12AM.

If you have:

  • A degree in Engineering Science, or the equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in controls and design of electrical panels
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot automated equipment, such as PLCs and HMI

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze machine downtime to identify root cause and countermeasure.
  • Perform all work required to develop programs identified as not meeting standard (PLC, HMI, Robot, Press, etc.).
  • Perform hard wiring modifications to machinery.
  • Provide support to the maintenance department during emergency downtime situations.
  • Provide training to the maintenance and engineering departments to improve their abilities.
  • Attend tool shop run offs and participate in all home lines as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost savings activities.
  • Support production in their efforts to produce quality parts that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations through continuous improvement and development.
  • Support production in order to meet or exceed established efficiency goals and other MOS measurable.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and 5S standards according to MPS standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, methods, and work environment through trouble shooting and problem-solving exercises.
  • Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Treat all other team members with respect and dignity.
