CNC Programmer
The CNC Programmer will write CNC programs parts and assist other machinists with creating and modifying CNC programs. The CNC Programmer will also utilize CAD/CAM to download 3D models to CNC machines. He/she will also be responsible for molding tooling design and fabrication using 3D modeling software. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment and adheres to our Quality Standards.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure production schedule completion and facilitate quality paperwork.
- Understand 2D and 3D drawings and create CNC programs complex new parts as needed.
- Assists in creation and maintaining of setup/instruction sheets for all programs.
- Develop and assist with the design of fixtures.
- Review CNC programs, inserts and tooling to minimize machining cycle times and reduce tooling costs.
- Assist with part quoting estimates.
- Manage all insert and tooling inventory.
- Recommend and specify insert tooling.
- Complete special assignments as requested.
- Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials in CNC machinery.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Ability to setup, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills without assistance.
- Must be self-sufficient.
- Ability to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements.
- Must be proficient with plant specific controls (FANUC, Haas, Okuma, Nakamura-Tome, Robodrill).
- Understands, interprets, and edits plant specific code programming.
- Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
- Understands and has the ability to perform tool wear offsets.
- Assists in daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
- Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.
- May sit for several hours at a time.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school
- Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Working knowledge of Mazatrol, HAAS and G-Code programming
- Working knowledge of MasterCAM or similar CAD/CAM software
- Knowledgeable with designing in Solidworks

- Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gages and other machine shop measuring instruments
- Familiar with computers and computer technology
- Creative, thinks outside of the box
- Strong technical aptitude: has the ability to visualize fabrication steps and think through a complete manufacturing process

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. Travel:
