What You'll Be Doing- Support receiving operations by unloading, moving, and staging incoming raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Assist with material movement throughout the facility, including operating overhead, gantry, and bridge cranes as needed and once properly trained and certified.
- Perform daily inspections of crane equipment and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
- Follow all OSHA, HSE, and company safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and safe rigging practices.
- Ensure incoming materials are properly received, verified, and staged in designated locations.
- Coordinate with Receiving, Production, Shipping, and Inventory Control to ensure efficient material flow.
- Secure and rig loads using approved techniques and equipment.
- Maintain clear communication with team members using radios, signals, or other communication tools.
- Complete receiving documentation, material movement logs, and safety checklists accurately and on time.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and material verification.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and workflow optimization.
- Provide training support to new employees once trained and certified on equipment.
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver materials as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- OSHA-certified crane operator (or ability to obtain certification upon hire).
- Proven experience operating overhead or bridge cranes in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of rigging, load handling, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read load charts, interpret work orders, and follow detailed instructions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and physical stamina.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as required by production demands.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or a combination of both.
