Homestead Cabinets is hiring for an Experienced Craftsman – Specialty Department Technician. We are seeking a highly skilled craftsman with at least 5 years of experience in woodworking. This role requires strong time management skills.

Position Details- Shift
Hours:
Typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (with some overtime required) - Pay Range: $18-20 per hour, based on previous work experience
- Follow work procedures and schematics, or receive verbal and written instructions for assigned tasks
- Perform manufacturing, assembly, and basic testing of products while adhering to Homestead’s procedures and process guidelines
- Maintain consistent daily production output
- Participate in quality control inspections and regularly check parts for accuracy
- Stack, sort, and apply labels/stickers to parts
- Collaborate with team leads, engineers, supervisors, and managers to enhance quality and process efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Assist in other departments as needed
- 5+ years of experience working with various types of wood, including cutting and shaping (furniture experience is a significant plus)
- Strong time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic machinery (table saw, mitersaw, router, power tools, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to changes in work schedules with flexibility
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and follow complex instructions
- Proficient in reading a tape measure
- Experience leading small groups of individuals is required
- Adherence to good manufacturing principles
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and precisionA curious mindset and willingness to learn
- Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and occasionally move items over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as necessary
- Frequent use of hands for gripping, clamping, and handling objects
- Ability to squat, kneel, stoop, crouch, pivot, and reach
