Manufacturing Operations & Product Line Lead Indianapolis, IN | On-Site
Our airport solutions manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Operations & Product Line Lead to lead day-to-day production while managing the successful build and delivery of technically complex equipment.
This is a highly visible floor lead role for someone who can manage people, production schedules, materials, quality, cost and delivery while also coordinating across Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Operations.
What You'll Do- Lead daily manufacturing operations, including production flow, workforce planning, shipping, receiving and inventory coordination.
- Establish production schedules and build milestones to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Lead and develop direct and temporary production employees.
- Coordinate product builds across Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Planning and Quality.
- Monitor material availability and work with Procurement/Supply Chain to resolve shortages.
- Track build progress, identify obstacles and drive issues to resolution.
- Coordinate real-time technical troubleshooting with Engineering.
- Oversee in-process inspections and quality checkpoints.
- Improve production flow, throughput, labor efficiency and manufacturing cost.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Ensure OSHA, safety, quality and company operating standards are consistently followed.
- Interpret mechanical drawings/schematics and help translate technical requirements into effective manufacturing sequences.
- Support supplier coordination and make/buy decisions as needed.
- 5+ years of manufacturing/production experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading manufacturing teams and production operations.
- Strong project management experience within a manufactured-product environment.
- Experience working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement and Buyers.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems;
Business Central experience is a plus. - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritization and communication skills.
- Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, AC systems or related equipment is highly desirable.
- Sheet metal manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Lean/continuous-improvement experience or certification is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience; engineering degree preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
