Summary:

The main responsibility of the Lubrication Specialist is to ensure that the paper machine is properly maintained and that all required lubrication is performed in accordance with the facility's preventive maintenance program.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Able to work safely after receiving extensive safety training in all OSHA required subjects that relate to a paper mill manufacturing environment.
  • Able to follow all established area SOPs.
  • Complete training and safely demonstrate ability to perform Conveyor Operator job.
  • Manage lubricant delivery, storage and dispensation.
  • Conduct designated route and schedule for machinery re-lubrication and/or inspection.
  • Properly select, change and/or top off the lubricants in mechanical equipment installed within the facility.
  • Use simple techniques to select grease application methods that are least intrusive and most effective for the machines.
  • Determines volume of lubricants required for re-grease and interval required to maintain the machines.
  • Properly maintain automatic lubrication systems (auto-grease, mist systems, etc.)
  • Employ basic oil analysis techniques to identify and troubleshoot abnormal lubricant degradation conditions and use simple techniques to adjust the lubricant specification accordingly.
  • Must comply with scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
