Industrial Equipment Build Supervisor
Where:
Knightstown, Indiana
When: 1st Shift, Mon–Thu, 4:00 AM–2:30 PM
Type:

Join a production team that turns components into complete machines. You’ll supervise and contribute to the assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring every order is built safely, accurately, and on schedule.
What you’ll do- Lead the line: set daily direction, assign tasks, and balance labor to meet changing priorities.
- Build with the team: perform hands‑on assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Use the right tools: hand tools, wrenches, torque tools, thread sealants, and measuring equipment.
- Follow the plan: interpret drawings, work instructions, and BOMs to execute standard work.
- Train and develop: onboard new hires, cross‑train teammates, and provide real‑time coaching.
- Uphold standards: conduct in‑process, final, and secondary inspections; document inspection results and maintain serial‑number records.
- Drive flow: communicate material shortages and scheduling concerns; help receive materials and prepare finished goods for shipment.
- Own the numbers: enter labor, material usage, inventory transactions, and work‑order updates into the ERP/production system; verify accuracy.
- Guard the stock: monitor inventory levels, ensure proper receiving/issuing, and perform cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
- Support the team: track attendance, productivity, and performance; raise issues to management as appropriate.
- Collaborate: participate in daily production meetings to share priorities, constraints, and resource needs.
- Keep it safe and organized: maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area; model teamwork, accountability, and quality.
- Interview support: help evaluate prospective production team members.
- Skill‑building: mentor employees to expand versatility across the production area.
- Clarity: ensure everyone understands daily goals and expectations.
- Manufacturing/assembly or machine-building experience.
- Previous team lead/supervisory or strong informal leadership background.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and hands‑on assembly proficiency.
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electro‑mechanical assembly.
- Comfort with hand and torque tools, wrenches, and basic measuring devices.
- Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
- ERP/work‑order/inventory system familiarity.
- Organized, analytical, and able to prioritize in a fast‑changing environment.
- Strong communicator who can train, coach, and motivate.
- Detail‑focused, quality‑driven, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
Equipment assembly, machine building, hydraulic assembly, electro‑mechanical assembly, industrial equipment, or custom manufacturing.
