Department Leader
Pro Resources is seeking a motivated and results-driven Department Leader to oversee daily operations within a restroom trailer manufacturing department. This role is responsible for leading a team of production team members, ensuring safety, maintaining quality standards, meeting production goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
Shift and Compensation 1st Shift Compensation is from $45,760 to $52,000 per year.
Job Duties
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of production team members.
- Plan and coordinate daily department activities to meet production schedules.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and efficiency while ensuring customer specifications are met.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production goals, expectations, and updates.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and team member engagement.
- Assist with team member training, onboarding, and cross-training initiatives.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve production issues.
- Ensure proper use of equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Address team members' concerns professionally and promote a positive team environment.
Background Profile Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read production schedules, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience in trailer, automotive, RV, or heavy equipment manufacturing. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience with welding, fabrication, assembly, or production processes. Associate's degree or technical certification is a plus.
