At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. Currently we are looking to add a dynamic Manufacturing Department Manager - Machining and Assembly
. We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right" to help support the team.

• Supervise 5-6 hourly employees
• Coordinate internal and external activities to meet required deadlines
• Acquire needed raw materials and components manufactured by subcontractors
• Assemble various mechanical systems with manufactured/purchased subcomponents
• Oversee manufacture of spare parts to support customer installed OEM equipment
• Manage Quality System for all mechanical systems and individual components
• Communicate frequently with the Engineering Department, Sales Department, and Technical Representatives

• 5 - 10 years' minimum experience
• 2 - 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar formal training and equivalent work experience
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with machining operations and fabrication
• Strong organizational, project management and time management skills
• Proficient with MS Office products
• Experience with Quality Control
• Ability to use sound technical concepts for problem solving

• Machine shop management experience beneficial
• Experience in an ISO Certified environment
• Hands on machine operations experience a plus
