Job Summary:

Ag Express Electronics is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician who will be responsible for assembling electronic components, wiring, and subassemblies according to specifications, ensuring high-quality and efficient production. This role plays a crucial part in manufacturing by supporting production goals and maintaining quality and efficiency standards.

This position is located at our Sulphur Springs, Indiana location.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

Electronic Component Assembly & Soldering
  • Assemble, solder, and wire electronic components and subassemblies following schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Ensure proper placement, alignment, and connection of all components.
  • Utilize hand tools and soldering equipment to achieve high-quality and consistent results.
Production Equipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate and maintain assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and minor maintenance on production tools, production testers, production programmers, and PCBA’s, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow proper Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling procedures to protect sensitive electronics.
Inspection & Quality Control Support
  • Inspect assembled components for accuracy, alignment, and proper function before moving them to the next stage.
  • Identify and report any defects or production issues to the Electronics Quality Control Technician.
  • Rework or adjust non-conforming assemblies based on quality control feedback.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance assembly techniques and production efficiency.
  • Provide feedback on workflow optimizations and tooling needs.
  • Maintain an organized, clean workspace and comply with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all workplace safety regulations, including proper handling of tools, chemicals, and electronic components.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations for product assembly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in handling small electronic components.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary for effective collaboration with coworkers and managers.
  • Positive approach to navigating challenges with a solutions-oriented approach, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Required Experience/Education/Training/

Certifications:
  • Education:

    Associate’s degree in electronics technology or proven equivalent work experience.
  • Work Experience:

    Experience in electronic assembly, soldering, or a related field preferred.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Ability to use standard office equipment and computer applications such as MS 365.
  • Certifications:

    Preferred; IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies); IPC A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies)
Physical Demands:
  • Manual Dexterity:
    Ability to manipulate small components, connectors, and wires with precision and accuracy during the assembly and testing of electrical systems.
  • Lifting and Carrying:
    Occasionally, the role may involve lifting and carrying equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to a certain limit.
  • Standing and Walking:
    Some tasks may require standing and walking around the facility for limited periods of time, such as collaborating with coworkers and testing certain equipment.
