Description GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, the E-Coat Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, professional, and customer-focused operation of the E-Coat manufacturing area. The Supervisor directs daily activities through the SQDPE management process
- Safety, Quality, Delivery, People, and Equipment - while developing Team Leaders and associates, maintaining professional standards, and meeting customer requirements.

This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong floor leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to balance people, process, equipment, and customer needs. The Supervisor uses Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) to identify abnormalities, establish priorities, implement countermeasures, verify effectiveness, and sustain improvements.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience required; 2-6 years preferred.
• E-Coat, paint/coatings, automotive manufacturing, finishing, or other process-manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading Team Leaders and hourly manufacturing associates preferred.

• Exceptional people, leadership, coaching, conflict-resolution, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional standards and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of PDCA, problem solving, root cause, continuous improvement, and accountability systems.
• Ability to understand and manage production rates, takt, staffing, downtime, quality concerns, and customer requirements.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use company production, communication, attendance, and reporting systems.
• Ability to work effectively with Quality, Maintenance, Production Control, Shipping/Receiving, HR, and other departments.
• Flexible work schedule and overtime may be required based on company and customer needs.

The E-Coat Manufacturing Supervisor is expected to model enthusiasm, teamwork, honesty, integrity, professionalism, respect, accountability, self-motivation, and customer focus. The Supervisor must use time effectively, communicate professionally, follow company policy, support teamwork across departments, and represent the company positively.

Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment and requires frequent floor presence, prolonged standing and walking, and work around moving equipment, forklift traffic, production machinery, and areas that may be hot, humid, or noisy. Appropriate PPE is required in designated areas. Specific lifting and physical requirements should be confirmed by BTD Human Resources for the E-Coat area.

• Ensure associates understand and follow safety rules, required PPE, safe work practices, and applicable environmental requirements.
• Maintain active floor awareness and immediately address unsafe behaviors, conditions, near misses, and incidents.
• Support incident investigation and corrective action and ensure identified safety actions are followed through to completion.
• Has the authority and responsibility to stop production when an immediate safety concern exists.

• Create a culture in which quality is everyone's responsibility and customer requirements are understood at every operation.
• Ensure associates follow Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), inspection requirements, quality alerts, control requirements, traceability, and documented processes.
• Verify Team Leaders are actively teaching quality expectations and associates understand what they are inspecting and why.
• Respond to quality abnormalities, contain suspect product, involve Quality as required, identify root causes, and use PDCA to prevent recurrence.
• Has the authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality concern could affect the customer.

• Understand daily customer and production requirements and translate them into clear priorities and expectations for the shift.
• Monitor manpower, production rates, takt, schedule attainment, material flow, downtime, and work-in-process throughout the shift.
• Identify gaps early, assign ownership, and develop recovery plans rather than waiting until the end of the shift.
