WHAT YOU'LL DO

The WIP Kitting Technician is responsible for preparing and staging components, subassemblies, and materials for manufacturing in accordance with production schedules. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of kits to the production floor, supports inventory control, and plays a critical role in maintaining workflow efficiency and minimizing production downtime.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to "the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle (forklift), equipment, machinery or power tools or the repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage".

• Pull, organize, and stage components and subassemblies for production work orders
• Assemble kits based on bill of materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with inventory control and material handlers to resolve shortages or discrepancies
• Label and package kits clearly for easy identification and traceability
• Transport kits to appropriate WIP staging areas or production lines
• Monitor and maintain kitting area cleanliness and organization
• Perform cycle counts and assist in inventory reconciliation as needed
• Communicate effectively with production, planning, and warehouse teams to meet scheduling demands
• Identify and elevate any material issues that could impact production schedules
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned..

YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or materials handling preferred
• Experience with basic fabrication equipment a plus
• Familiarity with inventory systems, work orders, and BOMs
• Basic computer skills and ability to use ERP systems or scanners
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) environment
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license
• Knowledge of ISO or quality standards a plus
