Production Supervisor

Salary: $60,000.00 USD Annually - $65,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our client is an industry leading manufacturer in the automotive industry. They are looking for a Production Supervisor for their facility located in a rural part of Western Indiana. Need an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to lead our Welding Department within a fast-paced assembly manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising daily welding operations, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, promoting workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires strong leadership skills, technical welding knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage personnel, materials, and workflow to support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, fabricators, and production team members.
• Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments are met.
• Monitor workflow, manpower utilization, and production efficiency.
• Enforce safety policies, procedures, and OSHA compliance requirements.
• Conduct daily production meetings and communicate departmental goals and performance expectations.
• Train, mentor, and develop employees to improve skill levels and overall team performance.
• Monitor weld quality and ensure adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to support operational objectives.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, scrap, rework, downtime, and labor efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Welding Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous hands-on welding experience and strong understanding of welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing production schedules and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred

• AWS welding certifications or equivalent technical certifications.
• Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing management systems.
  
  Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
