Full Time, Salary Range: $20.50 - $20.50 Hourly, The General Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently operating fabrication equipment in a steel product manufacturing environment. This role runs established processes on press brakes, wire forming equipment, and robotic welding systems, while monitoring quality and performance.

Schedule:

Monday–Thursday 5:00 AM–3:30 PM

Pay rate: $20.50

Location:

Orland, Indiana

• Setup machines and troubleshoot issues
• MIG/TIG welding
• Operate press brakes, wire forming machines, and robotic welding equipment according to established setups and work instructions
• Load raw steel material and unload finished parts while following all safety and material-handling procedures
• Monitor machine operation and part quality during production runs
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards
• Identify and report setup, tooling, or program issues that may affect quality, efficiency, or safety
• Assist Setup Technicians and Quality personnel in troubleshooting quality concerns or process issues as needed
• Stop production and elevate issues when defects, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns are identified
• Accurately complete production, scrap, and quality documentation
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic operator-level maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, visual inspections)
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in MIG/TIG welding required
• Experience operating press brakes, wire forming equipment, or robotic welding systems is a plus
• Ability to read work orders, prints, and basic drawings
• Ability to use basic measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication skills and willingness to report issues promptly
• Prior experience in machine operation or metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

• Lifting:
  Frequently lift boxes weighing up to 55 lbs. from floor to table or pallet heights.
• Standing/Walking:
  Continuous standing and walking during a 9.5-hour shift.
• Pushing/Pulling:
  Move stacks of parts weighing up to 200 lbs. over distances up to 100 feet.
• Reaching:
  Perform repetitive reaching movements to handle products from crates/boxes and conveyors.
• Bending/Stooping:
  Regular bending, squatting, and twisting required for product handling.
• Wrist Manipulation:
  Frequent manipulation of parts for insertion/removal from machinery.
