Overview
The Regional Communications Support Specialist works within the Indiana Department of Health Office of Public Affairs to develop press releases, social media content, and messaging that promotes public health awareness and supports local health departments. The position provides technical assistance to local health departments on communications across websites, social media, and marketing channels, while also supporting the Health First Indiana initiative and other agency projects.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in a similar communications role
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including for print, online, and social media
- Specialized knowledge of journalistic principles and news release preparation
- Ability to use desktop publishing, graphic design software, social media platforms, and website content management systems
- Working knowledge of photography and audio-visual equipment
