- Title: Marketing Specialist
- Location: Communication & Marketing Department @ The Library Services Center
- Hours: Full-Time (40 hours / week)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, occasional special events
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Have Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional marketing experience.
- Have two years of experience in marketing, communications, media, PR agency, or related field.
- Have demonstrated experience managing multiple marketing projects simultaneously.
- Have strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Have knowledge of current marketing trends and best practices.
- Have experience with Microsoft Office.
- Have strong organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Additional consideration may be given to applicants with experience with:
- Website content management systems (CMS)
- Paid advertising
- Social media management
- Photo and video fundamentals
- Public library, nonprofit, or education marketing
- Develops, coordinates, and executes integrated marketing campaigns that support advancing institutional strategic plan goals and objectives.
- Drafts marketing plans and campaign briefs outlining objectives, audiences, messaging, tactics, timelines, and evaluation metrics.
- Serves as project lead for some marketing initiatives, coordinating timelines and deliverables, collaborating with other teammates, approvals, and communication among internal departments and external vendors.
- Facilitates intake meetings and other communication with stakeholders to help formulate effective marketing plans.
- As assigned, writes and/or edits compelling marketing messages for digital, print, email, web, social media, signage, advertising, speeches, and promotional materials while maintaining brand messages, brand voice, and editorial standards.
- Leverages the institutional and team editorial calendar and campaign schedule.
- Assists with advertising campaigns as assigned.
- Occasionally staffs library events to capture content or coordinate staff and/or freelancers or represent the department for handling other marketing responsibilities.
- Able to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of library programs and special events.
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress.
- Maintains confidentiality in administrative matters.
