Summary of Role

The Media & Marketing Specialist is The Revival Project's first dedicated marketing hire and the engine behind how the movement shows up in the world. Working under the coaching of the Director of Product & Platform, this person develops the social media and public relations strategy in partnership with the Director, then owns the day-to-day execution and the results.

At the start, the role centers on two things: building a strong, authentic social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, and Linked In (etc.), and landing earned media through podcasts, publications, and press.

This is a builder's role, not a maintenance role. It suits someone early in their career who is hungry, driven, and eager to be innovative and own outcomes. It is analytical at its core: data, testing, and disciplined optimization drive the work. It is also modern: this person should use AI fluently to move faster and produce more, while keeping the voice real, human, and trustworthy for a faith audience.

Core

Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Partner with the Director of Product & Platform to set social media strategy, then own execution across Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, and Linked In (etc.), including cadence, formats, and workflows.
  • Plan and manage the content calendar and build the publishing rhythm that keeps the movement visible and consistent.
  • Grow and engage the audience authentically, building community rather than broadcasting.
  • Bring platform performance data into every decision about content, timing, and channel priority.

Public Relations and Earned Media

  • Own outreach to podcasts, publications, and outlets to secure guest features, interviews, and editorial placements for The Revival Project's leadership.
  • Coordinate inbound and lead-enabled invitations to podcasts, publications, and outlets, similarly.
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and announcements, and maintain a working list of media contacts, opportunities, and placement history.
  • Monitor for mentions and coverage, and flag timely opportunities to leadership.
  • Manage successful execution of all public relations and earned media work streams.

Data, Measurement, and Optimization

  • Track engagement, reach, growth, and conversion across channels.
  • Run tests and use the results to refine formats, cadence, platforms, and messaging.
  • Establish a simple, regular reporting cadence that turns performance into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.

Modern Tooling and AI

  • Use AI tools to accelerate content creation, research, drafting, and analysis.
  • Apply judgment about where AI helps and where a human, authentic touch matters most.

Collaboration and Growth

  • Work closely with the Director of Product & Platform, who coaches this role and holds overall marketing strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, Chief Visionary, Director of Mission Advancement, and Director of Church Engagement.
Qualifications
  • A commitment to Jesus Christ and to the building of His Kingdom, and genuine belief in The Revival Project's mission.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in social media, digital marketing, PR, or a closely related field.
  • Hungry, driven, and entrepreneurial. A self-starter who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • A clear, natural writer who can sound authentic and human, not corporate.
  • Fluent and curious with AI tools, and thoughtful about using them without losing authenticity.
  • Comfortable with analytics and marketing platforms.
  • An instinct for storytelling and an understanding of church and faith-based audiences.
Success Looks Like
  • The Revival Project shows up consistently and authentically across its channels, and audiences grow steadily without diluting theological depth.
  • Earned media placements land, putting the movement's leaders and message in front of the right audiences.
  • Content improves over time through disciplined testing and optimization.
  • Leadership has clear, regular visibility into what is working and why.
