WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Communications Director, you will work for one of our operating companies focused in the botanical, dietary supplement and beverage industry to serve as the communications and media relations lead for our brand. This is the right opportunity for a candidate passionate about changing the world by working with cutting edge botanicals and regulatory environments. This right candidate will play an active role in creating, building, and managing strategic communication initiatives that promote and protect the company’s reputation and help recraft the industry messaging.

As part of this, the Director will lead corporate communications activities around commercial matters, spearhead proactive/reactive communications, and develop content strategies for earned and owned corporate channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In collaboration with leadership of the Regulatory and Communications Team, play a lead role in driving and contributing to the overall communications strategy for the company.
  • Manage and support the company’s corporate narrative and story-telling campaigns, working in concert with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead communications for our sales network.
  • Provide strategic counsel on corporate campaign development, earned media activations, proactive and reactive media stories, and owned content.
  • Develop and execute content strategies to expertly respond to reputation challenges and issues, as they arise
  • Develop and execute communications plans for integrated campaigns
  • Move quickly and feel comfortable having autonomy to lead projects
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 7-10 years communications experience in-house, at a PR agency, or ideally a mix of both.
  • Related undergraduate degree (communications, journalism, literature, or writing preferred).
  • Experience developing and executing effective strategies and execution of corporate, brand, and issues communications.
  • Strong media relations experience with a sophisticated understanding of reactive strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries preferred.
  • Track and report campaign results; track against KPIs.
COMPENSATION

An aggressive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance and liquidity events. In this role you will be given the opportunity to lead projects with lucrative upside and will be rewarded generously on success. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this role.
