What we’re looking for in a Camp Director

To excel as a Camp Director at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, several key skills and qualifications are essential. A Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required, providing you with a strong foundation in organizational management. You should possess at least five years of experience managing successful youth camping programs, demonstrating your ability to lead and inspire both staff and campers.

Effective supervisory skills are vital, as you will oversee diverse teams and cultivate a cohesive work environment.

Familiarity with various software tools for scheduling, communication, and program management will enhance your efficiency in the role. Additionally, completion of all Archdiocesan employment requirements, including the Code of Conduct and background checks, is mandatory. Being a practicing Catholic committed to forming others in faith is crucial, as you will model values that resonate with the campers and community. Strong interpersonal skills will further help you forge meaningful connections with families and participants.

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration and/or a related field is required
  • Applicant must have at least five years of experience in running/maintaining successful youth camping programs and/or experience in having supervisory responsibilities
  • Completion of all Archdiocesan employment requirements including, but not limited to, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct, background checks and Safe Parish (safe environment) training
  • The leader of CYO Camp is expected to be a practicing Catholic committed to forming others in the faith.
