Role OverviewThe Youth Program Analyst will assist with all projects related to the Youth Homelessness Systems Improvement Grant and take a lead on specific areas. They will also contribute to applications for HUD grants allocated for YYA housing.
Salary StatementThe salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,200.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day In The Life Youth Homelessness Strategy- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of HUD regulations regarding the roles and responsibilities of the Continuum of Care and Coordinated Entry Lead.
- Stay abreast of upcoming changes in national policy regarding youth and young adult housing and plan to meet any arising challenges or opportunities.
- Track and apply national and state trends, promising practices, and legislation.
- Work with Youth Program Manager (YPM) to comply with HUD regulations regarding Youth Homelessness System Improvement grant award.
- Provide administrative support to the BoS CoC Youth Advisory Board (YAB). Manage YAB compensation, travel reimbursement and conference attendance. Support the YAB in community engagement and educational opportunities, to include presentation preparation.
- Lead the Statewide Youth Symposium planning committee and implement all feedback in the symposium implementation.
- Develop and implement the remaining statewide YAB trainings. Provide support to the Youth Housing Strategy Group and the Needs Assessment working group.
- Contribute to Youth Homelessness Demonstration (YHDP) grant application.
- Establish supportive relationships with BoS CoC YAB members, develop monthly agendas in collaboration with the YAB leadership, support monthly meetings, research and encourage best practices for YABs and learn about HUD’s priority to elevate youth voice in securing housing for youth and young adults.
- Provide administrative support to the Youth Housing Strategy Group, attending monthly meetings and keeping notes. Support subcommittees as they develop for purposes YHSI grant project review and implementation.
- Work with all consultants hired by IHCDA to implement a statewide needs assessment, explore youth CE module, expand youth data for HMIS.
- Develop communication and promotion for statewide YAB trainings and assist in managing Teams webinar for the trainings.
- Assist with developing partnerships with organizations engaging youth experiencing homelessness.
- Support the vetting, development and promotion of remaining statewide YAB trainings.
- Research best practices nationally, for serving youth ages 14‑24 who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness, to include YHDP award recipients with YABs.
- Become familiar with the state of homeless services across state agencies; understand state & federal laws/rules regarding youth homelessness.
- Support the Youth Program Manager in making regional connections to support its youth initiatives to develop qualification for an application for the YHDP Project administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
