We are currently hiring for an Indy East Financial Empowerment VISTA member and a Housing Development & Stability VISTA member! What You Will Be Doing:

Indy East is a collaborative effort focused on helping residents across Indianapolis’ Eastside build financial stability and long-term opportunity. This place-based initiative brings together neighborhood organizations, employers, small businesses, housing partners, and local leaders to expand access to good jobs, stable housing, asset-building opportunities, and small business support. VISTA members will play an active role in strengthening Indy East initiatives by helping partners coordinate programs, uncover insights through research and data, share stories of impact, and build the tools and systems that make collaborative community work more effective.

Through their service, members will gain experience in community development, economic mobility initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration while helping expand opportunities for individuals and families across the Eastside.

The Indy East Financial Empowerment VISTA will support innovative initiatives that help Indianapolis’ Eastside residents build financial stability, expand economic opportunity, and pursue long-term financial goals. The VISTA member will collaborate with community partners on initiatives related to guaranteed income, financial capability, and economic mobility. This may include supporting initiatives that connect residents to home ownership preparation, entrepreneurship resources, education and training opportunities, and other pathways to long-term financial security.

The Financial Empowerment VISTA will act as a connector between residents, local organizations, and Indy East while researching best practices, supporting community engagement efforts, and developing partnerships that promote inclusive and sustainable economic opportunity.

The Indy East Housing Development & Stability VISTA will work with the Indy East Housing Development team to support ongoing, community-focused initiatives related to housing affordability and preventing displacement. The Housing Development & Stability VISTA will collaborate with local nonprofits, community partners, and governmental agencies to lift up our economically diverse community through the promotion of affordable housing, neighborhood investment, and creative redevelopment strategies.

To accomplish this, the Housing Development & Stability VISTA will support the management of Indy East grant programs, including but not limited to owner-occupied repairs, predevelopment activities, and community development capacity building. The Housing Development & Stability VISTA will act as a collaborator and connector, building relationships and becoming involved in housing-related programs and long-term wealth building.
