What You’ll Do

As the Grants Manager at Kids’ Voice of Indiana, you will lead the execution of grant-related activities that support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of grants, including proposal development, tracking, reporting, and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, you will collaborate with the CEO, Director of Development, program leaders, and community partners to develop and implement funding strategies, manage grant life cycles, and support agency-wide strategic priorities.

You will provide project management ownership of the grant process, from initial planning and submission through reporting, renewal, and closeout. This role blends grant writing, project management, and compliance oversight, ensuring the organization maintains strong funding relationships while meeting the requirements of federal, state, and local funding sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the organization’s grants strategy in collaboration with leadership
  • Lead the development, writing, and submission of high-quality, competitive grant proposals, including narrative development and alignment with funder priorities
  • Provide project management ownership of the full grant lifecycle, ensuring all grants are accurately tracked and deadlines are met
  • Maintain and manage a centralized grant tracking system, including deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal timelines
  • Coordinate with finance leadership to support grant budget development by gathering programmatic and financial data and ensuring alignment with funder requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local grant requirements, including VOCA, city contracts, and other government-funded programs
  • Maintain organized documentation, grant files, templates, and reporting processes that meet funder requirements and ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Coordinate across departments to gather program data, financial information, and outcomes required for grant applications and reports
  • Serve as key point of contact for funders and community partners, supporting communication, reporting, and relationship management
  • Participate in funder meetings and grant-related communications to remain informed of opportunities and requirements
  • Collaborate with leadership and development staff to align grant efforts with the organization’s comprehensive development plan
  • Support organizational initiatives that strengthen sustainability and long-term impact
  • Represent Kids’ Voice at community meetings and relevant external engagements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant fields preferred (e.g., nonprofit management, public administration, writing, social work)
  • 3+ years of grant writing and grants management experience in a nonprofit setting (preferred)
  • Ability to pass state and national background checks, including DCS/CPS history check.
  • Strong writing, research, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with public and private grant funding sources.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

  • Values-driven, proactive communicator with a passion for child advocacy and nonprofit service.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential.
  • Experience working in or writing grants for legal, social service, child advocacy, education, or public-sector programs
  • Experience with government grant portals (Grants.gov, Just Grants, etc.). Familiarity with outcomes management or case tracking software (e.g., Optima, Clio).
Tech Know-How
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and Adobe
  • Digital meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Web Ex)
