Position Overview

The Senior Pastor is a mature man who will serve as the spiritual shepherd, teacher, and community presence for a congregation of approximately 50 members that values Scripture, prayer, missions, and traditional worship. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a rural setting, enjoys building personal connections, and feels called to guide a small but faithful congregation.

Key Responsibilities Preaching & Teaching
  • Prepare and deliver weekly Christ-centered sermons rooted in Scripture.
  • Lead Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship opportunities.
  • Support children's and youth teaching as needed.
Pastoral Care
  • Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and biblical counseling.
  • Visit members in homes, hospitals, and care facilities.
  • Walk with families through weddings, funerals, and life transitions.
Worship Leadership
  • Plan and lead traditional worship services.
  • Coordinate with musicians, volunteers, and lay leaders.
  • Encourage meaningful, reverent worship that reflects our values.
Community Engagement
  • Build relationships with Fillmore residents and local organizations.
  • Maintain a positive presence in town life.
  • Support community missions such as the Blessings Box and county outreach.
Administration & Leadership
  • Work with church boards, elders, or committees to guide church vision.
  • Oversee church communication, planning, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Encourage volunteer participation and develop lay leadership.
Spiritual Vision & Growth
  • Help the congregation discern and pursue God's direction.
  • Promote spiritual formation, missions involvement, and community service.
  • Foster unity, hope, and encouragement within the church family.
Qualifications
  • A mature man with a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
  • Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach Scripture faithfully.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in small church or rural ministry is helpful but not required.
  • Formal theological training preferred; equivalent ministry experience considered.
