We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner to support our healthcare community in delivering comprehensive general medicine services. This role offers the flexibility of PRN work, making it ideal for practitioners seeking to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a flexible schedule.
In this role, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily through interview-based evaluations and limited physical assessments. This is a non-treatment position focusing on documentation, with no prescribing or therapeutic responsibilities. Your expertise will directly contribute to veterans’ well‑being by conducting essential assessments efficiently and accurately.
Required Skills:- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Indiana
- Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or related fields
- Strong interviewing and assessment skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent documentation and report‑writing skills
- Reliable, organized, and professional demeanor
Skills:
- Prior experience with compensation and pension examinations
- Familiarity with veteran healthcare protocols
- Certification in physical assessment or related specialties
- Prior outpatient or primary care experience
Education and Experience:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (e.g., MSN, DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general or internal medicine
- Previous experience in a similar locum or temporary assignment is advantageous
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of assigned locations if working from home
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling options including half‑day or full‑day shifts
- Willingness to undergo quick credentialing and onboarding
- Travel expenses included in pay rates as applicable
- Candidates must adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
