Our 3B nursing unit is a 32‑bed medical unit and our 3C nursing unit is a 30‑bed medical unit specializing in cardiac, neurology, stroke, dialysis, pulmonary, hospice, and geriatric patients. The team includes RNs, PCAs, LPNs, and unit secretaries who collaborate effectively with other disciplines. Our Med Surg 2 (Adult Surgical Stepdown) unit focuses on adults preparing for or recovering from surgery, serving mostly orthopedic, urology, OBGYN, and general surgery patients, with additional medical patients with infections, wounds, and chronic health issues.
The mission is to provide safe and quality care, assisting patients to swift recovery and progress toward baseline health. As a Med Surg Flex nurse, you would float between the units.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will reflect the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adhere to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory and accreditation standards. You will be accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based care along the continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
You will participate in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Associate of Nursing (ASN);
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - 1 year Med Surg experience strongly preferred.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience, subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
