Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) WCHS 2026-2027
Location: West Whiteland

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Whiteland Community High School, Whiteland, IN.

Compensation: Up to $30/hour, based on experience.

Standard

Hours:

5 days/week (8 hours/day) within a 180‑day work calendar.

Position Purpose

Working under the supervision of a licensed RN, the LPN assists with two students at WCHS who have medical needs and helps maintain a safe learning environment within the classroom.

Job Summary

Provide dedicated 1:1 care in a school setting located in Whiteland, IN. The role requires a compassionate professional skilled in delivering individualized nursing support to students who require focused, one‑on‑one attention to thrive academically and medically throughout the school day.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to students with specific health needs.
  • Monitor and manage medical conditions while at school and/or in the home setting.
  • Implement care plans effectively.
  • Communicate with school staff and families to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with policies.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and daily health concerns.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid LPN license is required.
  • Experience in school nursing or young adult care preferred.
  • Strong ability to work independently and advocate for student health needs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with managing 1:1 care in an educational environment and homebound settings when necessary.
