The pediatric Registered Nurse position within the Pediatric ICU at Riley offers stair‑step training for advanced pulmonology and shock, advanced neurology and transplant, continuous renal replacement therapy, targeted temperature management, etc. We see solid organ transplants, trauma, ventilators, neurosurgical and other surgical patients, CRRT, ECMO, ICP, to name a few. A Registered Nurse within the Pediatric ICU is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to their patients in a fast‑paced and challenging atmosphere.

Nursing Skills Gained- Learn to provide care and assess critically ill patients.
- Assist with bedside procedures such as arterial line placement, central line placement, intubation and extubation, bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, etc.
- Support patients and their families while in the PICU and during end‑of‑life care.
- Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
