Job Overview
At Bio Life, Nursing careers are unique. Plasma Center Nurses screen and advise donors to ensure they are in good health to donate plasma. This plasma is used to create lifesaving therapies for patients with rare and complex diseases.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues involving donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents; determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent; or a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. Compensation is transparent and fair. Eligible employees may receive short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, payment of up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
