Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals.

Unit Overview:
Acuity Adaptable Unit - IU Health Tipton Hospital

Our acuity adaptable unit is a unique care environment that supports medical-surgical, progressive care, and limited critical care patients within a single flexible space. With an average daily census of 8 patients, our unit adjusts seasonally to meet the needs of our rural community. Nurses here are cross‑trained to manage a wide range of acuity levels, making this an ideal setting for those who thrive in a dynamic, team‑based environment.

Due to the rural setting, our team operates with limited resources, requiring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and collaboration. You'll work closely with a dedicated interdisciplinary team including nurses, patient care assistants, case managers, physicians, pharmacists, and dietitians, all committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Nursing Skills Gained
  • Care for a diverse patient population across multiple acuity levels.
  • Develop strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills.
  • Gain experience in rural health nursing, including resource management and creative problem‑solving.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounding and care planning.
Qualifications
  • Requires 1 year RN experience.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing;
    Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Why Join IU Health?
  • A supportive and collaborative work environment that is patient centered.
  • Competitive benefits.
  • 401(K) retirement savings with employer match.
  • Employer paid medical leave.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Student loan forgiveness - IU Health qualifies under the public service loan forgiveness program.
  • Employee Assistance Program - counseling at no cost to you.
  • Healthy Results – participation in our team member wellness programs awards points that contribute toward a biweekly financial incentive in your paycheck. The more you participate, the more you earn.
