Opportunity Healthcare is seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to provide locum coverage at a local Ft. Wayne facility. The role offers competitive pay, flexibility, and strong support from a leading locum staffing agency.
Job Responsibilities- Daily rounding on all inpatients (ICU, stepdown) and new consults, including discharge management.
- Participate in operating room activities: EVH hemapro 2, assist with vein harvest, first assist on cardiac and thoracic procedures.
- Provide medical management calls (days and nights), with schedule options of 7‑on/7‑off or other posted dates.
- Attend daily cardiothoracic surgery meetings, report rounds, and support inpatient care across cardiac, vascular, heart‑failure, and thoracic cases.
- Maintain equipment and supply readiness, including laptop usage for call documentation.
• Cardiac surgery or cardiothoracic experience, including familiarity with EVH procedures (≈500 cases preferred).
• Proven experience in inpatient medical management and rounding.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage call responsibilities.
• Current advanced practice provider licensing and credentialing.
