Location: Indianapolis
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, scrub skills, and neurosurgery experience for a travel assignment at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Indiana.
Requirements- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current)
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required; general OR experience is acceptable
- Scrub experience required
- Experience with General, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Plastics, and ENT surgical cases required
- Neurosurgery experience required (adult experience accepted)
- Level I trauma experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- Pediatric Operating Room setting within a Level I trauma center specializing in ENT, Urology, Plastics, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Neurosurgery
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and some adults
- Surgical cases range from minor procedures to highly complex cases including ECMO, burn procedures, tumor resections, and trauma procedures
- Equipment used includes Stealth, DaVinci, and ROSA surgical systems
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Primary schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30; option for 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00–15:30
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this position at a lower pay package
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
