American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I trauma experience and IN or compact RN licensure.
Details- Work in a Short-Term Acute Care hospital's Operating Room unit (Core 3 &
4) - Support a wide range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Plastics, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics
- 21 operating rooms with an average daily census of 70-80
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 40-60 hours per 6 weeks, which may vary
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals to meet facility needs
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required (may screen candidates with 2+ years if they have at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience)
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Must be well-rounded and current in most surgical specialties, excluding CV and Transplant
- Experience with procedures across Gynecology, Plastics, Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics (Da Vinci Xi preferred), and Urology
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two supervisor references required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a variety of surgical specialties in a high-volume OR setting
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within Indiana are accepted at a reduced bill rate
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be away from the organization for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
