American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology/Cellular Therapy position requiring 2+ years of oncology and stem cell experience along with Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification.
Details- Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital, specializing in Cellular Therapy
- Provides 4 different cellular therapy treatments including autologous transplant, allogeneic transplant, CAR-T, and TILS
- Administers IV chemotherapy prior to cellular therapy treatments
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Required to work every 3rd weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float to oncology or med/surg units within scope of experience
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and NIHSS
- OCN certification preferred for higher pay rate
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior experience in oncology, stem cell therapy, and critical care required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
- Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and symptom management
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Deliver specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cellular therapy and chemotherapy treatments
- Coordinate care and manage side effects of biotherapy, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy
- Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
- Holiday coverage required for a holiday cluster (2 major and minor holidays)
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from all facility locations to be eligible
- Returning travelers are welcome back without any waiting period between contracts
- Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days, which must be included in the original submission
