Job Overview
Part‑time and full‑time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus. This opportunity is geared toward upcoming and recent nursing graduates, as well as experienced operating room nurses.
Program DetailsOur O.R Fellowship Program offers a dynamic, transition experience that helps you develop clinical skills and professional strengths as you move from student nurse to operating room nurse. You will participate in Perioperative 101, learning how to scrub and circulate, under the guidance of OR Educators and preceptors.
For experienced OR nurses, orientations are bi‑weekly and required during the day shift (7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.).
Shift and LocationShift: Night Shift – 9 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Location note: Must live within 45 minutes of Methodist Hospital. This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.
Patient Population / DiagnosesLevel 1 Trauma Services. Orthopedics, Orthopedic trauma, Neurosurgery (brain & spine), Cardiovascular, Peripheral Vascular, General Surgery, Ear, Nose & Throat, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic, and Urology.
Unit Successes & DesignationsMagnet designations.
Training to scrub and circulate.
Unit CultureActive engagement with team members leading committees; interdisciplinary teams driving process improvement.
Unit DetailsNumber of Beds: 29 ORs; 2 hybrid; 1 IMRIS.
Qualifications- Associate of Nursing (ASN);
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
- Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess over two years of acute‑care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty, in accordance with patient care policies.
