- Shared weekend call, weekday night surgery call, holidays and late stay divided with 8 other providers.
Procedures:

- Assist responsibilities for a wide spectrum of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including routine and complex cardiac operations, advanced aortic surgery, heart transplantation, ECMO cannulation and management, endoscopic veinand radial artery harvesting, minimally invasive cardiac procedures, and chest tube insertion and management.
Key Responsibilities:
This role combines advanced inpatient management with surgical first-assist responsibilities within a high-volume adult cardiac surgery practice. The APP will provide comprehensive care for patients across the continuum of care, including the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), step-down units, and inpatient surgical services.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands clinical excellence, thorough documentation, and effective prioritization of competing responsibilities. Strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and the ability to multitask are essential.
Clinical responsibilities include the management of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgery, aortic surgery, and other complex cardiac procedures. The APP will participate in daily inpatient rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care, perform comprehensive assessments, and develop treatment plans while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
In addition to inpatient responsibilities, the APP will serve as a surgical first assist for a broad range of adult cardiac surgical procedures. Responsibilities may include assisting with operative exposure, endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting, chest tube management, and supporting surgeons throughout complex cardiac operations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree required
- ACNP or PA Certification required
- New Grads consideredwho have completed meaningful clinical rotations in CV surgery, cardiology, critical care, or related specialties.
- Previous APP experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with experience in CV surgery, critical care, cardiac nursing, or other high-acuity cardiovascular settings are strongly encouraged to apply.
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience assisting in adult cardiovascular surgical procedures, including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).
- Candidates with outstanding clinical rotations in cardiovascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, or related specialties will also be strongly considered.
