Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN for a teaching hospital setting, requiring circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties and DaVinci Xi robotics proficiency.

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of circulating OR experience across required specialties within the last 3 years
• Teaching hospital and academic health center experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• RN must have graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Operating Room unit within an academic teaching hospital with 24 beds and an average census of 70-80
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) working Saturday/Sunday plus one rotating weekday
• Call requirement of 40-60 hours within a 6 week schedule
• Circulating role covering General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection procedures
• Utilizes the DaVinci Xi Surgical System
• Cerner charting system used
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Responsible for circulating duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, robotic, gynecologic, thoracic, ENT, oral, urologic, plastics, and transplant procedures
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local IN residents are considered local and accepted for this Surgical Services position at a lower in-state pay rate
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
