Description
As a Resort Groundskeeping Supervisor, you will supervise the upkeep of resort grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems at an individual property. You will oversee a team of Resort Groundskeepers and ensure residents and guests receive quality customer service.
This is a seasonal position from May to October and may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities- Follow up on work assignments to ensure efficient, thorough completion of assigned work orders.
- Oversee and assist the groundskeeping team with upkeep of lawns, pools, streets, curbs, and gardening/landscaping; ensure trash and debris is removed daily and common area trash containers are emptied as needed.
- Manicure lawns appropriately; treat weeds, raked leaves, plant flowers and shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut and remove damaged tree limbs, and perform other lawn care services as necessary.
- Inspect irrigation systems regularly to ensure proper operation and repair as needed.
- Coordinate team member selection, training, scheduling, and development, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Prioritize and resolve resort service requests, including recording types and frequency of requests.
- Ensure staff performs duties safely, adhering to all safety procedures and correctly using safety equipment.
- Perform water testing and other maintenance duties related to a well-water system or on-site water meters, if applicable; take water samples regularly.
- Maintain vehicle/equipment maintenance logs and ensure proper maintenance of resort vehicles.
- Ensure safe storage of hazardous chemicals and equipment.
- Prepare all maintenance-related logs in accordance with the Operations Manual.
- Issue resident rule reminders, violation notices, and follow up as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years groundskeeping experience, preferably in the resort industry.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques.
- Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as required for constant outdoor work.
- Proficiency in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the use of email and the internet.
The job requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds. Hours are variable based on guest occupancy, season, and staffing.
