NHRA continues to race forward with a number of key initiatives, including a multiyear partnership with FOX Sports to televise NHRA events from the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and the Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. FOX Sports networks aired more than 500 hours of programming throughout the year, highlighted by 20+ race‑day shows, including eight on FOX’s national network, in addition to qualifying broadcasts throughout the weekend.

This position reports directly to the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park General Manager and is responsible for planning, organizing, recruiting, staffing, directing, and evaluating the emergency fire/rescue and EMS response team. Responsibilities encompass on‑track incident response, facility incident response, development and implementation of emergency operating procedures, as well as evacuation and disaster plans. As a member of the Emergency Services Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a positive guest experience by professionally managing and coordinating first responders for both participant‑related incidents on track and spectator‑related situations off track.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Plan and organize emergency response functions and programs across all facility operations
- Recruit, staff, and direct emergency response teams and personnel
- Evaluate and oversee on‑track incident response operations and protocols
- Manage facility incident response procedures and coordination
- Develop and maintain emergency operating procedures for various scenarios
- Create and implement evacuation plans and disaster preparedness programs
- Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively
- Ensure proper maintenance, repair and inventory of all fire/rescue and EMS equipment
- Collaborate with coworkers and cross‑functional teams to ensure effective emergency preparedness and response coordination
- Work with Indianapolis Raceway Park Track Manager
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Must be state certified firefighter and/or state certified EMR or EMT‑basic (BLS certified)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have or be able to acquire BLS (basic life support) certification
- Must have knowledge of Indiana Department of Health Guidelines for EMS
- Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, training, and directing fire/rescue and EMS personnel within the context of auto racing and spectator events
- Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively with local fire, EMS, and care flight teams to coordinate mutual aid
- Demonstrates the ability to perform efficiently under pressure or within tight deadlines while consistently delivering accurate results
- Demonstrates initiative and perseverance in leadership, exhibits strong analytical skills, and effectively resolves problems with minimal supervision
- Must arrive promptly at the beginning of your shift, prepared and ready to work
